INFOPOL
The Infopol was started in 1995 as a cooperation between UDSM and Delft University of Technology,The Netherlands.Major parts of the project has been funded by the Dutch Government.

The long-term objective is the improvement of the institutional capacity of the UDSM in the areas of academic and administrative management as well as research and development through the improvement of its data processing capacities and its information resource management as defined in UDS's IP plan and IT master plan.
Sub-Projects
The Infopol main project is structured through a number of sub-projects:
- the Financial Information System(FIS) project: aiming at the development and implementation of a computerized information system for UDSM's financial administration;
- the Academic Register Information System(ARIS) project: aiming at the development and implementaion of a computerized information system for UDSM's academic register
- the Library Information System(LIBIS) project: aiming at the development and implementation of a computerized information system for UDSM's library system;
- the data communication INFRAstucture(INFRA) project: aiming at the development and implementation of a university-wide data communication network;
- the upgrade Professional level Computing Centre(PROFCOM) project: aiming at the development of th organisational arrangements required for securing the continuos operation and maintenance of UDSM's information resources.
