University of Dar es Salaam holds A Symposium on Belt and Road Initiative
On November 23rd Confucius Institute of the University of Dar es Salaam organized a Symposium on Belt and Road Initiative at the Nkrumah Hall.
Giving welcoming remarks Prof. Rwekaza Mukandala on the presence of Ministers for Industry, Trade and Investment, Hon. Charles John Mwijage, Minister Councillor and represetative of China Ambassador Mr. Gou Haodong and Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Dar es Salaam Prof. Liu Yan, he said " I believe that this Symposium will focus on the relationship and discuss possible ways of making the Symposium"
The theme of the Symposium was: "Belt and Road Initiative: In Search of Non-Conventional Investment Opportunities in Sino-Tanzania Cooperation". Five sub-themes emanating from the theme was presented and deliberated.
The Symposium was timely as it came at a time when Sino-Tanzania relations are increasingly consolidated. The Sino-Tanzania relations have evolved from the past when they confined only in a few areas to now where they have expanded to incorporate almost all sectors of life: economic, political, cultural, educational and others.
