Dr. Sangu E.M: Is a professional plant molecular breeder or geneticist working tirelessly to develop useful traits in plants (disease resistance and drought tolerance) to improve characteristics to meet the dynamic market requirements and climatic resilience. Over the years he has been involved in developing rice varieties and breeding lines for high yielding and tolerance to multiple biotic and abiotic stresses especially resistance to rice mottle virus, drought and salinity for rainfed lowland rice ecosystems. He conduct research and consultancy in area related to plant product and productivity to increase and maintain yield and quality in crops and plants of medicinal value; also develop products for crop protection and propagation. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses on Cell Biology, Genetics, Pant breeding, and Evolution.
