The core mission of department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (DMBB) is to provide high quality teaching, research and public services in the fields of microbiology, molecular biology, biotechnology and related biological sciences.

In order to achieve the core mission DMBB strive to implement the following main strategic objectives:

1. To expand access to university education at both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) levels.
2. To increase quality of graduates
3. To increase volume and quality of research 
4.  To improve volume and quality of public services 
5. To strengthen outreach, networking and partnership 
6. To strengthen departmental capacities
