The Department of Mathematics of University of Dar es Salaam participated in writing a project proposal for to the TFK 2022, Team Finland Knowledge programme. The proposed project was titled as “Working Life Interaction in Modelling and Data-Skills (WOLIMODS)”.  WOLIMODS was one of the 30 successful projects.

WOLIMODS involves three Finland universities and three universities from East Africa. Universities from Finland are:

• Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology
• Tampere University
• University of Jyväskylä

Universities from East Africa are:

• University of Dar es Salaam,
• Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology (Arusha-Tanzania), and
• University of Rwanda
