It has become a tendency for the College Principal to hold a staff meeting in every semester. On 9th May, 2023, Prof. Stephen Oswald Maluka held a meeting with academic and administrative staff at New Lecture Theatre C’.

During the meeting, Prof. Maluka expressed the current achievement made by the College. He was deeply impressed by the newly developed projects, and congratulated the special team that won a tender of books writing for primary schools in Zanzibar.

Besides, Prof. Maluka was fascinated by concerted efforts made by the Government led by Her excellence, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan. He notified the DUCE staff thatthe governement has granted permit to DUCE to employ a total of 31 new staff members. He further acknowledged the decision made by the Government for sponsoring 16 academic staff to pursue their master’s and PhD. programmes to the best Universities through HEET project.

In addition, the College Principal congratulated President Samia for allowing payment of annual increment to all workers in the country in the new financial year. He insisted that such remarkable decision will enable the College to smoothly run its co-functions of teaching, conducting research and innovation, and service delivery to the community. Moreover, Prof. Maluka insisted on the implementation of the new incentive scheme that aims at boosting workers morale.

Prior the Principal’s speech, the Deputy Principal (Planning, Finance and Administration), Prof. Method Samwel Semiono addressed the Staff community on the issues raised in the previous meeting. He stated clearly that the fund from HEET project will be used for developing modern infrastructure, digital technology, curriculum review and staff development.

At the end of the meeting, the Manager for Planning and Development, Dr. Baltazar Awe held a discussion with DUCE Staff on the College’s Five Years Strategic Plan, and requested the staff to make a critical review as per Government directives.
