MINISTRY OF EDUCATION

INTRODUCTION

Ministry of Education at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) is among the Ministries that compose the Cabinet organ constituted as per Dar es Salaam University Students Organization (DARUSO) as approved by the council on 12/05/2012.

The Ministry of Education - DARUSO that compose of three appointed leaders by DARUSO - President Hon. HAMIS HAMIS SEIF in consultation of  DARUSO - Vice president Hon.GALEBA, BELINDA Z. The appointed leaders to run the Ministry are Hon. ZULAIYA HASHIM  as a Minister, the Deputy Minister Hon. SAIDI MOHAMEDI  and General Secretary of the Ministry Hon.AMANI HAMIS 

 

DUTIES OF THE MINISTRY

The Ministry of Education is expected to be accountable for one year as per the DARUSO Constitution. The Ministry will work in cooperation with various University of Dar es Salaam Administrative Offices and other DARUSO - Ministries. And so, is expecting to perform the following:

  1. Addressing and solving all academic concerns facing direct and indirect students of the University of Dar es Salaam. 
  2. To organize a synergy event aiming at helping our fellow students who will not be having the tuition fees to pay for their studies the event will be titled STUDENTS EMPOWERMENT.
  3. To organize various Academic meetings with all Excom Academic from all schools, institutes and colleges aim to discuss the progress of the academic among the University of Dar es Salaam.
  4. To organize various academic debates amongst the UDSM students as well as to administer the writing academic works performance skills.
  5. To participate effectively and conducting seminar orientation to first-year who will be admitted as UDSM students in the academic year 2023/2024.
  6. To create a WhatsApp group that will include all class representatives, ExCom’s Academic from all Schools, Colleges, and Institutes for quick sharing of information.
  7. To prepare an appropriate budget for running these activities that will be done by the ministry.
