This is a scholarship for Non-Tanzanian eligible students who wish to study Masters of Arts in Kiswahili at the University of Dar es Salaam. Applications are invited from eligible candidates to undertake M.A. Kiswahili at the Institute of Kiswahili Studies of the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This is a competitive, merit-based scholarship offered by the University of Dar es Salaam. The scholarship covers tuition fee, accommodation, research costs, and limited subsistence allowance (stipend) for a programme title Master of Arts in Kiswahili by coursework and dissertation. The duration of the study is 18 months.

 

Eligibility

Applicants should:

  1. Be non-Tanzanians.
  2. Be from Partner States of the African Union in which Kiswahili is not widely used.
  3. Have a Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences or Language Studies from a recognised University.
  4. Have a GPA of 3.5 or above on a five-grade scale in their first degree.
  5. Have studied Kiswahili language at least at Advanced Level of Education or its equivalent.
  6. Not be more than 35 years old as of November 2022.
