Our Dr. Rita Alice Mwaipopo of the Department of Economic Law has been appointed Chairperson of the Copyright Society of Tanzania (COSOTA).
COSOTA is an organization established by the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act, Cap. 218 (R.E. 2002). It is primarily responsible for managing copyright issues in Tanzania Mainland. It has a number of functions but the major one is to maintain registers of works, productions and association of authors, performers, translators, producers of sound recordings, broadcasters and publishers.
We congratulate Dr. Mwaipopo for this appointment and wish her all the best in her assignment.
