Welcome to the University of Dar es Salaam School of Economics (UDSE) website.
On this website, you will learn more about our history, the programmes we offer, curricula, requirements for courses, research and collaboration activities. You will also meet the members of staff of the School. The School was established in September 2020, succeeding the former Department of Economics, which was one of the largest departments under the College of Social Sciences.
The School of Economics is home to students drawn from across the continent of Africa, who study our internationally accredited academic programmes at the postgraduate level. We have a vibrant team of members of staff who teach, engage in research and collaborative activities, and are highly relied upon by the government in various national policy dialogues and consultation.
The School of Economics is committed to educating leaders and policy analysts who will make a difference in the policy arena and society in general. The achievements of our alumni in different positions and ranks reflect this commitment. You will learn more on our alumni on this web page.
Our vision going forward is that the learning experience at the School of Economics will continue to be strengthened so that the students do not just get the skills, tools and knowledge, but also that they go away with critical thinking skills and judgement. These will enable them to be effective leaders and policy analysts who will make a difference in this rapidly changing world.
I wish you a great time as you explore our website. I trust that you will discover why the School of Economics is one of the leading institutions in the region, and decide to join us.
