The Confucius Institute at the University of Dar es Salaam invites applicants for the Chinese Language Evening / Short Courses.

Courses

  • Basic Chinese Level I & II
  • Intermediate Chinese Level III & IV

Class time

Weekday evenings, 16:30 – 18:30, on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. There are no short-course classes on Wednesday.

Course duration and intakes

Each level takes two months (64 hours). Intakes:

  • 4 January – 26 February
  • 15 March – 7 May
  • 24 May – 16 July
  • 16 August – 8 October
  • 25 October – 17 December

Tuition fees (per level, TSh)

  • 120,000: UDSM students (attach your student ID)
  • 150,000: secondary school students
  • 200,000: UDSM staff; students from other universities (attach your student ID); Form Four and Form Six leavers and graduates of the respective year
  • 300,000: others
  • 500,000: foreigners

Note: payments are non-refundable.

Application procedure

  1. Read all the information above.
  2. Pay the tuition fee using the control number provided at the Confucius Institute Accountant Office.
  3. Take the bank slip to the Administrative Officer at the Confucius Institute office, CI New Building, next to the new UDSM Library.
