Evance Magnus Mtweve is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences. He holds a Bachelor of Education in Physical Education and Sport Sciences (2017–2020) and a Master’s degree in Education in Physical Education and Sport Sciences (2023- 2025), both from the University of Dar es Salaam. In addition, he participated in an exchange program at the University of Agder (Norway) for one semester, from August to December 2025, gaining international academic exposure.
His research interests include post-exercise recovery and performance, sport training methods, and coaches’ education, with a strong focus on applying scientific evidence to enhance athletic performance. His master’s thesis, titled “Determining Post-Exercise Recovery Strategies among Tanzanian Basketball Players,” reflects his commitment to advancing knowledge in sport recovery and performance within the local context.
Mr Mtweve has teaching experience at both secondary and tertiary levels. He served as a Physical Education Teacher at Genesis Schools from 2021 to 2023 and has been an Academician at the University of Dar es Salaam since 2023. Alongside his academic role, he is actively involved in sports coaching and development.
He is a member of the Tanzania Basketball Coaches Association (TBCA) and a graduate of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Coaching Course. He also has ongoing coaching experience with Bulls Football Academy (2021 to date), contributing to youth development and practical coach education.
Currently, his academic and professional focus is on publishing research in sports performance, training, recovery, and coaches’ education, aiming to bridge the gap between theory, research, and coaching practice.
