Kick-Start of the Financial Literacy for Teenagers Programme

The Financial Literacy for Teenagers Programme officially commenced today at the University of Dar es Salaam Business School (UDBS) under the coordination of the Centre for Banking and Financial Services Research.

The opening ceremony was graced by the Dean of UDBS, Prof. Omari Mbura, and the Head of the Department of Finance, Dr. Thobias Swai, whose presence underscored the UDBS’s commitment to promoting financial literacy among young people. In their opening remarks, they encouraged participants to make the most of the programme by acquiring practical financial knowledge and skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.

Throughout the week, participants will engage in interactive sessions covering:

  •  Basic Financial Mathematics
  • Budgeting and Financial Planning
  • Saving and Investment
  • Lawful Income-Generating Activities
  • Rights and Responsibilities in Financial Services
  • Financial Discipline

We wish all participants a productive and rewarding learning experience and thank the UDBS leadership, facilitators, parents, and organizers for making this initiative possible.
