ERASMUS+ CBHE PROJECT ON FOSTERING DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF SCIENCE IN KENYA AND TANZANIA

The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) is a key partner in the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) project, Fostering Digital Transformation of Science in Kenya and Tanzania (FOSTER). This international initiative brings together a diverse consortium of academic and research institutions committed to advancing Open Science practices across the region.

Project partners include Daystar University (Kenya), Garissa University (Kenya), St. Paul’s University (Kenya), the Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute (Tanzania), the International School of Social and Business Studies (Slovenia), the University of Zaragoza (Spain), Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Netherlands), and the European Policy Development and Research Institute (Slovenia).

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

The FOSTER project aims to:

  1. Promote an Open Science culture by building national and institutional consensus among key stakeholders in each partner country.
  2. Support universities in transitioning toward sustainable Open Science practices.
  3. Strengthen Open Science infrastructure within participating institutions.
  4. Integrate Open Science into policies and contribute to the development of supportive national regulatory frameworks.
