I am a geochemist and an igneous and metamorphic petrologist, with a strong interest in metallic mineral deposits and environmental geochemistry. I hold Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and Chemistry, and a Master of Science degree in Geology, both from the University of Dar es Salaam Tanzania. I earned my Ph.D. in Mineralogy and Petrology from Christian Albrecht University of Kiel in Germany, where my research focused on crustal evolution and metallic mineralization in the Paleoproterozoic Ubendian Belt of Tanzania.
Currently, I serve as senior lecturer and Head of the Department of Geosciences at the UDSM. I teach a range of courses, including magmatic and metamorphic petrology, metallic mineral deposits, ore genesis, ore microscopy, volcanology and Geology of Tanzania.
My research interests are broad, with a particular focus on the formation and evolutionary of geological terranes and their associated Earth resources.
