Laurean Laurent Mussa

Biography

Laurean Laurent Mussa is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Private Law, University of Dar es Salaam School of Law. He joined the University as a Tutorial Assistant in February 2008. Dr. Mussa holds Bachelor of Laws (LLB -2007), Master of Laws (LLM-2009) and Doctor of Philosophy in Law (PhD -2016) from the University of Dar es Salaam. He is also an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania, Notary Public and Commissioner for Oaths – since December 2010. Dr. Mussa is a member of the Tanganyika Law Society, the Bar Association for Mainland Tanzania. Dr. Mussa specializes in Land Law, Law of Succession, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Civil Procedure and State Control of Hydrocarbons (majoring in access to land rights and licensing in oil and gas operations). Currently, Dr. Mussa serves as the Dean of the University of Dar es Salaam School of Law. Previously( July 2020 - October 2024), Dr. Mussa served as Head, Department of Public Law.
