Biography

Dr. Fatma Mohamed is a Lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam in the Department of Structural and Construction Engineering - College of Engineering and Technology. Dr Fatma holds a B.Eng in Architecture from Tokyo Institute of Technology, M.Eng. and PhD in Architecture from the University of Tokyo, Japan. She is a registered Architect with about 15 years’ experience in teaching, consultancy and research. 

Dr. Fatma is an active member to a number of professional organizations and serves on different National and International bodies. She is a member of the Council of Engineers for the Energy Transition (CEET), Chairperson of the National Construction Council (NCC) and a member of Council of the Zanzibar University (ZU)

Research Interest

Her research interests include architecture sustainability and conservation achieved through a deeper understanding of construction materials for both new construction and conservation.
