Sophia Kigodi is an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam with a strong background in power systems and renewable energy. She holds a Master’s degree in Power System and High Voltages from University of Dar es Salaam and has conducted research on assessing the potentiality of Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) in Tanzania’s mining industry to enhance energy reliability and sustainability. Her current research interests focus on the integration of photovoltaic (PV) systems into power grids, energy policy, and sustainable energy solutions for developing economies. Sophia is passionate about advancing clean energy technologies to promote energy access, environmental stewardship, and economic development.
My research focuses on the integration of renewable energy technologies into modern power systems, with a particular emphasis on photovoltaic (PV) generation, energy reliability, and sustainability. I am interested in investigating the technical, economic, and policy aspects of large-scale PV integration, including grid stability, power quality, and system optimization. Additionally, my work explores hybrid renewable energy systems, solar resource assessment, and innovative energy solutions for industrial applications, particularly in the context of developing countries
