Biography

I am currently serving as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), a position I officially joined in June 2025 under the College of Information and Communication Technologies (CoICT). My academic and research interests focus on Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data Analytics, with a strong commitment to applying these technologies to address practical challenges in sectors such as health, agriculture, and financial inclusion.

I hold a Master of Science in Data Science from the University of Dar es Salaam (2024), where I completed a research study titled "Forecasting Pediatric Medical Expenses Using Machine Learning: A Case Study of the Toto Afya Card in Tanzania"—later published in the Journal of ICT Systems (JICTS). I also earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management from Ardhi University (2021).

  • Innovate for Food Security – StartHub Africa: Led multi-university bootcamps and ideathons in Uganda, empowering youth to develop tech-based solutions for climate change and food security, with a focus on agri-tech innovation and business model development.
  • Green Growth AgriHack Uganda 2024: Mentored 25 tech-driven agriculture teams over a 48-hour hackathon, supporting the development of solutions ranging from solar-powered food dehydrators to AI-powered market linkages for smallholder farmers.
  • World Food Programme Retailer Capacity Building: Designed and delivered training programs for over 100 retailers, focusing on improving market readiness, operational standards, and access to WFP supply chains.
