Biography

Holding a Ph.D. in Geography and Environmental Studies from Pennsylvania State University, I am a broadly trained natural resources expert with (i) a background in environmental studies; (ii) a focus on landscape ecology, biodiversity & environmental conservation; socio-ecological systems & sustainability; and (iii) an extensive experience in geospatial technologies and geospatial analysis (GIS and Remote Sensing), and their applications in research & development. In particular, I am passionate about applying geospatial techniques to understand the complexities of socio-ecological systems and explore options for fostering resilience and sustainability.

Currently, I am working as a lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam where my major responsibilities include teaching, research and consultancy services.

Landscape Ecology, Biodiversity Conservation, Human-Wildlife Interactions, Habitat Connectivity, Geospatial Analysis (GIS and Remote Sensing), Land Use Dynamics and Climate Change.
