Ms. Cecilia Moses Msocha is a dedicated professional with a strong background in secretarial and administrative work, currently serving as the Secretary of the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering at the College of Information and Communication Technologies (CoICT), University of Dar es Salaam.
Her career foundation was laid at the Tanzania Public Service College (TPSC), Mtwara Campus, where she pursued and earned a Diploma in Secretarial Studies in 2013. During her time at TPSC, Ms. Msocha not only excelled academically but also displayed notable leadership qualities. Between 2011 and 2013, she served as the General Secretary of the Tanzania Public Service Students’ Organization (TPSPSO) at the Mtwara branch, a role in which she coordinated student affairs, facilitated communication between the student body and the administration, and represented her peers in various institutional matters.
Ms. Msocha is committed to continuous professional growth and has undertaken several specialized training programs to enhance her skills. Notably, in 2020, she completed a Customer Care training program offered by the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) in Tanzania, equipping her with advanced interpersonal and client service skills crucial for her role in a dynamic academic environment.
Her professional engagement extends beyond her institutional duties. Since 2017, she has been an active member of the Tanzania Personal Secretaries Association (TAPSEA), a national body dedicated to the professional development and networking of secretaries and administrative personnel. Her commitment to staying updated with industry trends was further demonstrated when she participated in the Secretarial Annual Professional Conference organized by TAPSEA from 20th to 22nd May 2021, where she engaged with peers, gained new insights into the evolving secretarial profession, and explored emerging technologies in administrative work.
In her current position at the University of Dar es Salaam, Ms. Msocha plays a pivotal role in supporting the academic, research, and administrative functions of the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering. Her responsibilities include managing official correspondence, maintaining departmental records, coordinating departmental activities, and providing professional secretarial support to ensure the smooth functioning of operations.
