Biography

A lecturer and researcher at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the University of Dar es Salaam. I am interested in the design, development, implementation, integration, use, and sustainability of information systems (IS) in developing countries. My research is primarily grounded within an action research framework and participatory design approach, working closely with practitioners, data managers and policymakers.

Research Interest

 I work in the following research areas:

  1. Information systems supporting health management in developing countries.
  2. Evidence-based decision making for improving essential health services.
  3. Institutionalization processes of information systems.
  4. Standardization processes of technology and work practices in organisations.
  5. Building capacity around free and open-source software applications within the domain of developing countries.
  6. Integration of information systems to support information sharing and integrated workflows.
