Dr. Darius Mukiza is a Journalist, Media consultant and Lecturer at the University of Dar es salaam- School of Journalism and Mass Communication( SJMC). At the SJMC, Dr. Mukiza is the Post Graduate Coordinator, Head of Public Relations and Advertising Unit as well Coordinator of Diploma program in Journalism. He has a PhD in Mass Communication from the St. Augustine University of Tanzania where he specialised in Political Communication, Advertising and Markerting. Previously, Dr. Mukiza worked in various newsrooms as the Journalist. These newsrooms include Habari Corporation (The African Newspaper), Mwananchi Communications Limited ( The Citizen News Paper), The Guardian Limited ( Guardian on Sunday newspaper), Tanzania Stardard Newspapers ( The Daily News Paper) and The East African Newspaper. Dr. Mukiza has also taught at Dar es salaam Tumaini University ( previously, known as Tumaini University Dar es salaam College) for eight years. At Tumaini University, Dr. Mukiza worked as the Lecturer, Head of Mass Communication Department, Assistant Quality Assurance Coordinator and General Secretary of Dar es salaam College Academic Staff Association (DARCASA). Dr. Mukiza is also teaching on part-time basis at the St. Augustine University of Tanzania Dar es salaam School of Graduate and the Open University of Tanzania.
