Biography

Blue chip geotechnical civil engineer senior lecturer and researcher at University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) Department of Transportation and Geotechnical Engineering as well as a consultant at UDSM Bureau for Industrial Cooperation (BICO).
Has a first class with honours BSc. in Civil & Structural Engineering degree from UDSM, MSc. with distinction in Geotechnical Engineering & Business Management and Diploma of the Imperial College. Also has an engineering PhD in geomechanics from Imperial College.
Chairman of Soils and Foundations Technical Committee of Tanzania Bureau of Standards which is mandated with proposing relevant Standards and Codes of Practice for national adoption. Previously Head of Department of Transportation and Geotechnical Engineering at the College of Engineering and Technology of University of Dar es Salaam for the trienniums 2018 – 2021 and 2021 - 2024. Previously honorary tresurer and council member of the Institution of Engineers Tanzania. Previously member of the National Technical Advisory Team for the first Standard Gauge Railway in Tanzania.

Licensed Consulting Engineer and Approved Professional Person (APP) of the United Republic of Tanzania Ministry of Water having undertaken multiple geotechnical site investigations for building constructions, bridges, jetties and power plants in Tanzania. Currently with particular interest in accelerating renewable energy development and adoption of cleaner technologies in civil engineering in Tanzania.
