Biography

I am lecturer in geology and an early-career researcher in the field of petrology of mineral deposits and tectonics.

My focus is on petrology of alkali rocks and carbonatites, and their associated rare earth element mineralization. I combine mineralogical and geochemical studies to understand various geoprocesses involved in the formation and evolution of carbonatites, how these processes concentrate economic quantities of rare earth elements in carbonatites, and how carbonatites relates to the regional tectonics. My primary target is on Tanzanian carbonatites.
