Mr. Salim Sharif is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Dar es Salaam, with academic training in applied economics and predictive analytics. He holds an MS in Applied Economics and Predictive Analytics from Southern Methodist University, United States of America, and a BA in Economics and Statistics from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. His experience spans university teaching, large-scale survey data management for World Bank consultancy, and advanced quantitative analysis in treasury and financial markets at the National Bank of Commerce.
Currently, He also serves as the Communication Officer and Coordinator of Industrial Linkage & Alumnae Association at the School of Economics (UDSE).
His academic interests lie in applied econometrics, time-series & panel-data analysis, and the intersection of machine learning. He is committed to leveraging rigorous empirical methods to inform policy and to mentoring students in developing the technical and critical thinking skills required for high-quality economic analysis.
