Biography

Scolastica Louis Damas is an Assistant Nursing Officer I with over ten years of professional experience in nursing and patient care. She was born on December 3, 1986, in Sintali, Tanzania. She holds a Certificate in Nursing and Midwifery from St. Bakhita Health Training Institute (2010–2012) and a Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery from Peramiho School of Nursing (2017–2019). She is currently serving as an Assistant Nursing Officer I at the University of Dar es Salaam Hospital, Mlimani Campus.

 

Her nursing career began with clinical training at Namanyire District Hospital and Dr. Atmani Hospital before joining Tunduru District Hospital in 2013 as Nurse II. During her service, she gained extensive experience in maternity care, maternal and child health, HIV Testing and Counseling (PITC), non communicable diseases, and community health services, strengthening her clinical, communication, and patient management skills.

 

Currently, she works in the Inpatient Department (IPD), where she provides comprehensive nursing care, monitors patients' conditions, administers medications, responds to medical emergencies, maintains accurate clinical documentation, and ensures compliance with infection prevention and control standards.

 

Scolastica has also completed professional training in family planning, infant and young child nutrition, HIV Testing and Counseling (PITC), early infant diagnosis, and the management of non communicable diseases. These trainings have enhanced her ability to deliver evidence based, patient centered healthcare.

 

She is dedicated to providing compassionate, ethical, and high quality nursing care. Her professional values are rooted in integrity, continuous learning, teamwork, and respect for patient dignity, which she believes are essential to achieving excellence in healthcare delivery.
