Dr. Raphael Leonia John is an Lecturer at the Institute of Development Studies, University of Dar es Salaam. She is a competent teacher in subjects such as Ethics and Development, Rural - Urban linkages, Environment, Natural resources management and Community Livelihoods Responses in rural areas. She has fundamentally been engaged on Intensity of Land Use Changes in Tanzania; Peri- urban Agriculture and Climate Change, Vegetation Cover Change and Community Livelihoods Adaptation strategies. She participated in Projects named Dynamics of Civil Society relations in increasing food productivity in rural areas and Integrating traditional and modern knowledge system in improving land productivity in Upper Kitete village in Karatu District Tanzania funded by organization such as SIDA SAREC and REPOA between 2011 and 2014. She is currently studying PhD on Vegetation Cover Change and Community Livelihoods Adaptation strategies in rural areas of Tanzania.
