Prof. Lemayon L. Melyoki, obtained a PhD from the University of Twente, the Netherlands and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification issued by the NBAA. He is a current member of the Academy of Management (AOM) and the Institute of Directors of Tanzania (IoDT). He has held various administrative/ managerial positions at the University of Dar es Salaam and a board member in various organizations. He researches and publishes in the areas of entrepreneurship, management (leadership), and governance. His publications have appeared in the various renown peer-review journals including  Journal of Extractives and Society, Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship and the International Journal of Cross Cultural Management, focusing on leadership, entrepreneurship and governance topics. Prof. Melyoki is current a co-leader for the international research consortium on leadership and management in Africa and Diaspora (LEAD) Project. He has also been closely involved in the development and governance of the extractive sector in Tanzania including participating as a researcher in the sector assessment/benchmarking study focusing on the National Oil Company.

Prof. Melyoki has hands-on experience capacity building interventions having previously implemented donor focusing on institutional strengthening initiatives/reforms for the legal sector and broad private sector development efforts. He has implemented, capacity development initiatives including developing and adopting training materials, delivering trainings to various audiences: grass root levels, large corporate organizations and government. Prof. Melyoki’s experiences in advisory work span the Public, Private and civil society domains; e.g. he had been a Team Leader in a number of assignments including the study on Africa Local Council Oversight and Social Accountability (ALCOSA) phase II; development of the first strategic plan for the Law School of Tanzania. He has participated in the process of updating the Country Report for the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) on Tanzania focusing on the chapter on corporate governance.
