Hanifu Amiri Matindanya, born on August 31, 1994, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, is a dedicated quantitative economist and academic. Hanifu’s academic journey reflects his commitment to excellence. He began his education at Charambe Primary School (2002–2008) and excelled at Chamazi Secondary School (2009–2012), earning certificates for outstanding performance as well as recognition for his role in the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) club. He furthered his studies at Kibaha Secondary School (2013–2015). He Pursued higher education in Algeria, Hanifu earned a Certificate of French Language at Badji Mokhtar University of Annaba (2015–2016), followed by a Bachelor’s Degree in Quantitative Economics at Mouloud Mammeri University of Tizi-Ouzou (2016–2019) and he completed his Master’s Degree in Quantitative Economics at Abderrahmane Mira University of Bejaia (2019–2021).
Hanifu’s research portfolio is robust and impactful, with interests spanning development economics, behavioral economics, microeconomics, and agricultural economics. In 2018, Hanifu co-authored Biashara ya Kimataifa Nchini Algeria, a Swahili handbook analyzing Algeria’s trade data (2015–2017) to highlight business opportunities for Tanzania, which was presented to the Tanzanian ambassador in Algeria. Hanifu is proficient in statistical software (EViews, SPSS, Stata) and Microsoft Office, and is fluent in Swahili and English, with advanced proficiency in French.
