Mr Steven Kitigwa is Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Food Science and Technology, University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He earned a BSc in Food Science and Technology from the Sokoine University of Agriculture and a MSc in Food and Nutritional Sciences from the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology. He has extensive training in food and nutritional sciences through his years of study, research, and teaching. He is a prospective PhD candidate in Food and Nutritional Sciences. Additionally, he is an expert in advanced food analysis employing chromatographic methods and data analysis using the R and Python programming languages. Also, he is expert in Kobo Toolbox for survey design, digital data collection, field monitoring, and data quality assurance. He is experienced in designing questionnaires, deploying mobile based surveys, and managing large datasets. He is particularly interested in nutritional research related to functional foods and nutraceuticals. His focus to nutritional sciences is a reflection of his desire to advance knowledge about how food may be used to benefit human health and wellbeing.
