The overall objective of Sida iGRID sub-programme (Phase II) is intended to develop human technical and scientific capacity to facilitate implementation of automation of monitoring, evaluation, analysis, control and management of electrical power system. iGRID phase II theme is Smart Grid Capacity Development for Enhancing Electrical Power Network Management in Tanzania. The purpose being to improve delivery efficiency and to optimize operational costs in the electrical power system in Tanzania. In the iGRID sub-programme research is focused on addressing societal needs and provide innovative solutions that invokes critical thinking using Smart grid technologies (i.e. making electrical power network smart and intelligent using ICT).
