Mr Changoma is an assistant lecturer in the School of Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Technology (SoAF). He attained his MSc in Fisheries science at Pukyong National University, South Korea and Bsc. in Fisheries and Aquaculture (UDSM). He is currently undertaking his PhD studies in Fish stock assessment at Hokkaido University (Japan). He has extensive knowledge in Fisheries science and applied Biotechnology.

He has worked with different community groups in different capacities such as fishing community mobilization, participatory co-management trainings, Acting Head of Department (Livestock and Fisheries), and Tanrok (Tanzanians living in South Korea Association) representative for Busan division. 

At SOAF Mr Changoma served as an Assistant Coordinator for SoAF Research, Consultancy and Publication and School Coordinator of Undergraduate Studies, School coordinator of Innovation and entrepreneurship, SoAF representative of Deep Sea Fishing Authority (DSFA) research committee, SoAF representative of UDASA EXCOM and UDASA CLUB committee chairperson.

His research interests and areas of expertise include Fisheries management, Fish stock assessment and population dynamics, Aquaculture, Recovery of bioactive compounds, Biodegradation and Bioconversion. Changoma assist in teaching several undergraduate courses in Fisheries sciences and Ecology. He also supervises undergraduate research projects.
