Mr James Kachungwa Lugata is an Assistant lecturer at the Department of Zoology and Wildlife Conservation within the College of Natural and Applied Sciences, University of Dar Es Salaam. He has been a member of staff at UDSM since 2015. He co-teaches undergraduate courses and supervises postgraduate seminars. Mr Lugata holds a BSc and MSc degree in Applied Zoology from the University of Dar es Salaam in 2015 and 2019, respectively. Currently, Mr Lugata is a PhD student at the Doctoral School of Animal Science at the University of Debrecen –Hungary, which started Sept 2020 with expected to end in 2024.

Mr Lugata has the passion, skills and knowledge in biological research and academia. He lectures on several topics, including vertebrate anatomy and physiology, Invertebrate Zoology and Environmental Physiology. He has finely-tuned analytical skills with a dedication to expanding subject knowledge and workplace competencies through continuing research and training; on environmental physiology, physiological stress, Nutrition physiology, and toxicology, including oxidative stress and neurotoxic stress.
