STAFF MOBILITY (TEACHING MOBILITY TO EÖTVÖS LORÁND UNIVERSITY (ELTE), HUNGARY
The Institute of Development Studies (IDS) at the University of Dar es Salaam is pleased to invite members of academic staff to apply for teaching mobility under the Erasmus Programme, in collaboration with Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), for the Autumn Semester 2026.
1. Mobility Details
Mobility window: Early September 2026 – Mid-February 2027
Mobility type: Outgoing staff mobility (teaching mobility)
Fields: Development-related areas, including (but not limited to) Development Studies, Development Management, Gender Studies, and closely related interdisciplinary topics.
2. Purpose of Mobility
The teaching mobility supports UDSM academic staff to:
- Deliver teaching activities at ELTE (e.g., guest lectures, seminars, short courses, workshops).
- Strengthen institutional linkages and academic collaboration between UDSM and ELTE.
- Contribute to internationalisation of teaching and promote future joint initiatives (co-teaching, curriculum development, research collaboration).
3. Mobility Categories
Category: Staff Mobility
Level/Position: Teaching Mobility
Number of mobilities : 4 (Two weeks for each mobility)
Requirements
- PhD or above
- Must be Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor (or equivalent)
- At least two prior degrees taught in English
- Proposed teaching area aligned to development-related fields
- Feasible teaching plan for the mobility period
4. Eligibility (all applicants)
Applicants must:
- Be full-time academic staff at UDSM (Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor or equivalent).
- Hold a PhD or above.
- Have completed at least two prior degrees in English (evidence required).
- Demonstrate strong teaching and thematic expertise in a relevant area of Development Studies.
Be available during the mobility window and comply with travel/visa/insurance requirements.

Applicants should submit ONE PDF (named using your formal university name + staff registration/employee number) by email to: ids@udsm.ac.tz
Email subject: “ELTE Staff Teaching Mobility 2026/27 – Your Name”
The single PDF must contain:
- Motivation letter (max 1 page): teaching mobility goals, relevance to IDS/ELTE collaboration, expected outputs
- Proposed teaching plan (1–2 pages): topics, learning outcomes, number of sessions/contact hours, tentative schedule
- Curriculum Vitae (max 3–4 pages)
- Evidence of qualifications: PhD certificate (or letter of award)
- Proof that at least two prior degrees were taught in English (e.g., degree certificates/transcripts indicating language of instruction or official letters)
