Prof. William A.L.Anangisye 

 

He joined the University of Dar es Salaam, Facalty of Education as Assistant Lecturer in 2000.

 

 

He teaches Educational Foundational Courses, including Professionalism and Ethics in Education, International and Comparative Education, Philosophy of Education, Sociology of Education, and History of Education.

 

Until his appointment as a Vice Counsellor, Professor Anangisye was Principal of the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) since March 2015. Earlier on, he had served as Deputy Principal (Academic) at Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) between May, 2012 and March, 2015; Associate Dean (Academic) at the University of Dar es Salaam School of Education from 2009 to 2012 and Acting Head, Department of Educational Foundations from 2007 to 2009. 

 

On 9th August, 2017 he was appointed by His Excellency, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania as Chairperson of the Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) to date.

 

Prof. Anangisye is a recipient of numerous awards, grants and scholarships, including Best Staff Award for the Year 2011 in the School of Education.

 

Professor Anangisye has carried out research and published widely in Education. He is author of more than 30 articles and conference papers published in reputable international and local journals, His most recent book is Fifty Years of Education in Tanzania, 1961-2011: An Historical Account and Review (with Abel Ishumi), published in 2014 by the Dar es Salaam University Press.
