UNIVERSITY OF DAR ES SALAAM
ALUMNI CONVOCATION AND ADVANCEMENT (ACA)

Announcements

The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) recognises the place and role of her graduates in developing and improving academic programmes and other related activities. This led to the establishment of the Directorate of Internationalization, Convocation and Advancement (DICA), which is responsible, among other things, for establishing a strong linkage between UDSM and her alumni.

The University has planned to undertake two major activities in partnership with alumni. These are:

  1. Conducting a university-wide tracer study prior to the review of her curriculum across all her academic units. Success of this endeavour depends very much on the valuable contributions of graduates out on the job market; and
  2. Establishing Regional Alumni Chapters across the country for purposes of improving the University’s contact and collaboration with the Industry by way of building and strengthening her alumni database.

The University values such alumni database as it creates and maintains needed cohesion and mutual consultation with respect to the following advantages, among others:

  • Sharing information on scholarship opportunities and participating in scholarly activities such as discussions, mentorship workshops on education and employment matters;
  • Promoting graduate business training/services to over 30,000 registered users on the platform through use of an Alumni Business Directory;
  • Participating in recreational activities/services at a discounted price or free of charge; and
  • Access to new library services for personal/institutional development.

UDSM is hereby inviting all her alumnithat is every alumnus and alumnato share their contact information and it promises that the data provided will be kept confidential and that it will be used by UDSM only for access to her graduates and alumni activities.
