Diversity Unit

The Gender Unit (Currently, the Diversity Unit) was established in 2013. The Unit aims at coordinating issues of equity and equality regarding to aspects of gender, sex, ethnicity and disability at the College. The Diversity Unit spearheads issues of inclusion and mainstreaming of gender. In doing so, the Unit performs various activities such as research, training, campaign against gender based violence, women empowerment and outreach services.

The Unit has the role of nurturing young generation on issues of equity and equality. Through student’s gender club, members of the club help to create awareness on issues pertaining to sexual harassment and their implications.

In June 2022, the College launched the gender desk aiming at creating a safe environment for learning and teaching. The gender desk is the comfortable platform in administering issues related to gender based violence and managing all forms of sexual harassment at workplace.

With regard to research, in August 2022 the Diversity Unit established the Gender Research Center (GRC) for strengthening research and training activities. Gender Research Centre (GRC
