Dr Emmanuel Jonas Kwayu is a Lecturer, Consultant and Researcher in the Department of Geography and Economics. He holds a PhD in Environment and Development from the Sustainability Research Institute (SRI), University of Leeds. He has accumulated vast experience of more than 10 years in training, research and consultancy undertakings. His areas of research focus on environmental development issues including Payments for Ecosystem Services, Sustainable Agriculture Intensification, Conservation Agriculture, Climate Change Science, Adaptation and Mitigation; Project, Program and Policy Impact Evaluation, Natural Resource Management and Participatory Governance, Energy Resources (oil and gas, solar, wind and hydro mini-grids); Rural Livelihoods and Sustainability; Large Scale Land Based Investments; and Cocoa, Coffee and Cotton Value Chains. His teaching focuses on Impact Evaluation Measurement Methods (i.e. quantitative and qualitative methods (mixed impact evaluation methods); climate change science, impacts, adaptation and mitigation; Quantitative Research Techniques and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) focused on descriptive and inferential statistical techniques for analyzing spatial and non-spatial data. Dr Kwayu has published peer-reviewed papers in journals such as Ecosystem Services and Environment and Development.
