M.A Records and Archives Management

The Master of Arts in Records and Archives Management programme is intended to prepare students to be able to:

  •     Acquire knowledge, skills and competencies of records and archives management standards
  •     Apply knowledge and skills acquired in enhancing competence in records and archives management in organizations.
  •     Understand different tools and techniques in managing records and archives
  •     Develop records and archives management systems
  •     Design, evaluate and manage databases to support records and archival services

Entry Requirements/Qualifications

MA in Records and Archives Management is a multidisciplinary course. To be considered for admission to this programme, a candidate must be a holder of the degree of the University of Dar es Salaam or any other accredited University or has satisfied the requirements for the award of such degree. To be admitted candidates should have a first degree in any field as a minimum entry qualification. The minimum pass level should be lower second class with GPA of not less than 2.7.

Weight of each component in the final assessment of the programme

Contains 50% coursework (oral and written) and 50% final written examination including the dissertation.
