DUCE conducted an orientation programme for undergraduate, postgraduate and certificate/diploma freshers. The orientation week took place from 30^th October 2023 to 6^th November 2023, and was coordinated by the Office of the Dean of students. The orientation aimed to familiarise students with DUCE’s campus life, resources and academic expectations.

Speaking during the orientation week event, the Dean of Students, Ms. Natu Msuya encouraged students to maintain their mental health by avoiding psychological disturbances. She stated that her office would consistently, address welfare matters, including guidance and counselling, students’ health, cafeteria services, accommodation, and sports and games.

After the general session, a team of officers from all faculties and departments organized themselves to ensure that first year undergraduate and postgraduate students receive a warm welcoming support and are given relevant instructions.

In this manner, first year students were grouped in different venues according to their faculties. Deans, in their respective faculties, highlighted important issues for students to note, including course programmes, admission procedures, College regulations, character development and university life in general.

The report from the Director of Undergraduate Studies, Dr. Hezron Onditi and the Director of Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Sixbirth Mlowe, indicated that in the year 2023/24, the College successfully registered 2240 undergraduate students, 192 postgraduate students and 82 diploma/certificate students.
