On February 20th, 2024, the Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Hon. Albert Chalamila, visited the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) to observe the ongoing construction of classrooms and toilets for Chang'ombe Demonstration Secondary School.

Hon. Chalamila was accompanied by esteemed officials, including the Member of Parliament for Temeke Constituency, Hon. Dorothy Kilave, Temeke District Commissioner, Hon. Sixtus Mapunda, and Director of the Temeke Municipal Council, Elihuruma Mabelya. Other attendees included leaders and stakeholders from Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM).

The visit began with a warm welcome extended to Hon. Chalamila by the College Principal, Prof. Stephen Oswald Maluka, alongside Dr. Christina Raphael (The Deputy Principal of Academic, Research and Consultancy), Prof. Method Samwel (Deputy Principal of Planning, Finance and Administration), the Head teachers, Directors, Deans, teachers, and students.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Chalamila applauded DUCE for its dedicated efforts in constructing new classrooms and toilets for Chang'ombe Demonstration Secondary School. He acknowledged the College's commitment to ensuring that government funds are allocated to the designated areas. Hon. Chalamila emphasized the government's dedication to enhancing the quality of education, noting ongoing endeavours to improve classrooms and sanitation facilities nationwide to address the challenges faced by students.

Providing a brief overview, Prof. Stephen Maluka, the College Principal, expressed gratitude for the government's support, contributing over 172,000,000/= Tanzanian Shillings to the project. He further highlighted that the College utilized its internal income, totalling approximately 250,000,000/= Tanzanian Shillings.
