The University of Dar es Salaam Legal Aid Clinic operates under the University of Dar es Salaam School of Law and is responsible for providing legal advice, legal representation, preparation of legal documents, and legal education.

MSc Scholarship Opportunities at University of Dar es Salaam

Fluoride contamination in groundwater remains a major public health challenge in northern Tanzania, particularly in Oldonyosambu and Oldonyowas wards of Arusha District. Many residents depend on groundwater sources with fluoride levels exceeding WHO’s recommended limit (1.5 mg/L), leading to widespread dental and skeletal fluorosis. Rainwater harvesting (RWH) offers a low-cost and sustainable alternative for providing safe drinking water in these communities.

MA EGPS is multidisciplinary, combining courses that are team-taught in the Humanities, Development Studies, Political Science and Law disciplines.

Eligibility:

This Sida-funded PhD scholarship is open to eligible candidates wishing to specialize in Interdisciplinary Molecular Biosciences (IMB). The training will include the following disciplines: systematics, natural product chemistry, ecology, biotechnology, biomedical and bioinformatics. The PhD program must be completed within four (4) years and will be offered at the University of Dar es Salaam through a blended learning approach, involving expert contributions from Swedish partner institutions. The Institute of Marine Sciences (IMS) of the University of Dar es Salaam is excited to announce 2 scholarship opportunities for MSc studies. The scholarships are generously funded through a research project titled “Enhancing Coastal Resilience: Integrating Cost-Effective Technologies and Nature-Based Solutions for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation in Tanzania (ENCORE-TZ)” commissioned by the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH).

A COSTECH funded climate friendly agriculture titled Improving Banana Yield and Value Addition to Banana Waste for Climate Friendly Banana farming has set aside fund to sponsor two MSc. Students. The project is working at improving banana productivity through the use environmental friendly Humic and Fulvic Acids to reduce clearing of forests for more agricultural land; and adding value to banana waste, in particular: fibre extraction from the pseudo stem, production of black soldier fly larvae (animal feed protein) and animal feed and ethanol from banana fibre decortication waste.

The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) is the oldest university in the country. It began as an affiliate college of the University of London in October 1961. TRAINING ON MANAGING SNAKES AND SNAKEBITES

Objectives

This training aims to introduce to participants about groups of snakes found in Tanzania, with key emphasis on; identification, avoidance (of snakes and snakebites), handling and translocation.

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the training, participants are expected to gain knowledge and practical skills on dealing with snakes and snakebites and using various gears to handle and translocate snakes.
